With regard to emergency department flow and team dynamics... no one physician is an island - this is a team sport... how would you define an efficient/effective emergency medicine physician. How does a physician behave/perform to maximum the overall benefit of the department/team? How would you measure that?
If you were to redesign emergency department flow without any rules... perhaps borrowing from other industries... how would you do it? What would change? What would stay the same?
After you have designed this new flow process... how would you give feedback to or train to it? Meaning, how would you encourage good behavior or get team member buy in with continuous ongoing improvement?
